This year’s theme “Balance For Better” will be celebrated across the world. It is part of a year long campaign aimed at not just women but rather a campaign aimed at creating a balance which is essential for the way we live.
To mark the day, we want to salute the women on our team! Below we tell you who they are, what they do and how they Chia their Bia!
Chia Bia’s success is testament to the hard work of our employees and each member plays a crucial role in the running of the business. We employ 18 people and our eight female staff work across all the departments. Kate Bowes and Róisín McCahill are a duo team, they ensure the company quality systems are adhered to and they maintain BRC accreditation for the company which is a globally recognised food safety standard. Kate enjoys whole chia seed on her Greek yogurt and Roisin insists she sprinkles the Four Seed Mix on everything!
Niamh McDonald looks after purchasing and logistics and as a keen fitness enthusiast enjoys making chia protein balls. Kerry Ryder, handles day-to-day administrations and provides a key support to the team, she loves the Chia, Apple & Cinnamon in baking . Lynda O’ Brien works with Irish and Foodservice accounts and is fond of a chocolate-chia mousse! Claire Williams manages the marketing & sales team and starts her day with porridge, topped with milled chia seed, berries and peanut butter!
In October 2018 we opened on onsite café bia+brew in Riverstown Business Park managed by Shannon Forrest. Shannon is immersed in all things chia in the café and is spoiled with a choice of chia puddings, chia jam topped porridge, seedy salad toppers and even chocco chia brownies!!
